What We Believe

The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the written word of God and includes both the New and Old Testaments. These books are the pure and inerrant Word of God given to man by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. The scriptures contained with the Bible are profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness; and furthermore, it is the ultimate authority for all things pertaining to faith and life. [2 Timothy 3:16]

The Triune God
We believe in the Trinity, the One God existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit who operate in different capacities but are one in purpose. [Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7]

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ and that He is the Son of God and was the incarnate God in the earth.  We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miraculous works, His atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.  We believe His current service is as mediator to mankind until His personal return in power and glory.  [Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:35; 23:46,53; 24:5-6; Acts 1:10-11; 1 John 2:1]

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.   The Holy Spirit is the One who draws people to Christ, equips believers for growth, and guides and reveals all truth to mankind. [1 Corinthians 3:16, 2:10-11; Romans 8:9, 15; John 14:26, 16:13; Ephesians 1:17]

The Church
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of the Body of Christ, which is the Church.  The Church is God's idea and is made up of called-out ones who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and are committed to living a life according to the example of Christ Jesus.  [ Acts??? Peter scripture]

Salvation & Eternity
We believe that salvation is a free gift that is made available to everyone because of the redemptive actions of Jesus Christ when He died on the Cross. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation and that repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ are necessary to be righteous and included in the Family of God. Upon acceptance, this salvation restores relationship with God and man. Furthermore, we believe that once salvation is secured, one can grow in santification as they are filled with the Holy Ghost and yield to His direction. [John 3:16; Romans 5:9-11, 10:9-11; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 2:8]

We believe that Jesus will return for a church without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish and that there will be a rapture.  We further believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in Heaven.   [John 3:16; Ephesians 5:27; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17]

Water Baptism
We believe in water baptism is not a personal choice, but a command for all believers and is completed by immersion. Water baptism is a public, outward testimony that indicates a personal, inward faith. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and signifies the believer’s death to their old life and his or her resurrection as a new creation in Christ. [Romans 6:3-5; Matthew 28:19]

Communion
We believe that Communion, often called “The Lord’s Supper,” is a memorial in which believers identify with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It’s a time for believers to remember the Lord’s broken body and His shed blood for all people. [Luke 22:14-29; 1 Corinthians 1:23-26]

Family and Marriage
We believe God is the originator of the family and He instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Marriage is a legally binding, public declaration of commitment and covenant, and a private consummation, exclusive between one genetic man and one genetic woman, never between the same sex.  Therefore, we believe God gives a wife to a husband and a husband to a wife, and they are to receive one another as God’s unique and personal provision to help meet their mutual needs.  The order of family structure is: God covers the family, the Husband is the spiritual leader of the household and subject to God, the wife is subject to God and her husband and is called to be a "helper" to her husband; the children are subject to the parents.  Parents are to teach the children to honor, serve, and submit to the Lord. In the absense of one parent, the other carries the duties of head of household.  [Genesis......]

Five-Fold Ministry
We believe that God has set Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers in the Body of Christ for its edification and maturing. We believe both men and women can hold these offices and  proclaim the Gospel message. [Ephesians 4:11-12]

Gifts of the Spirit
We believe in the indwelling and baptism of the Holy Spirit and the evidence that is a result of this baptism which includes speaking in other and unknown tongues, operating in the fruits of the spirit and the works of the Spirit which include: [1 Corinthians 12:1-11]
